Leather Furniture- Keep it looking great!

Like many people we know, I love good leather furniture.

Some years ago, actually 15 to be precise, my wife and I purchased a large black leather Desede sofa. It's made from incredibly thick steer hide, that is also beautifully soft and supple.

We have used it for 15 years... and I mean used and abused it! Our kids have jumped on it, cats have peed on it, dogs scratched it, friends puked on it... how to take care of it???

Actually, we use Lexol Leather Cleaner to clean it, then condition it with Lexol Leather Conditioner. We do this routinely every month. First I clean with Lexol cleaner, then, while the sofa is still wet, I condition it with a very thin coat of Lexol Leather Conditioner. I let the conditioner sink in for about 20 minutes, wipe off with a clean, soft terry cloth towel and it's done!

It looks great. All of our friends cannot believe that it is 15 years old!

Well, a picture says a thousand words... take a look!

MY '57 CHEVY!

I just found a great picture of a '57 Chevy Bel Air Convertable, just like mine! I've been looking for a good picture for quite some time now.

My Chevy had power windows, power brakes (both limited to only 200 original cars) Silver and Red Vinyl seats and a white Vinyl top. I used Vinylex to keep the vinyl seats from cracking and peeling (they were ORIGINAL!) and also used Vinylex to keep the white "ragtop" clean and pliable so I could drop it in the summer! I used the KozaK Auto DryWash Cloth to keep her sparkling clean before every parade! This car was a favorite on the 4th of July!

When I first got her, I ran out of gas on the highway. The gas gauge was stuck on full... but the tank was empty! I could not find the filler cap. It was hidden behind the chrome trim on the left rear fin! Fortunately, a passing motorist remembered where it was!

1937 Plymouth Coupe

I used to own a beautiful 1937 Plymouth Coupe, very much like this one. Mine was dark Green, with very dark green wool uphulstry and headliner. It had an electric starter, that you had to press down hard with your foot to get the engine to turn over.

My Coupe had a "Rumble Seat" in the back, which was a fold out seat that would let you sit outside, above the trunk in the fresh air!

Naturally, I would polish this beauty with a KozaK every time I took her out for a ride or a parade!
